Thanks to our region’s consistently clear skies, temperate climate, continuous light breezes, and unmatched topographical beauty, a Limoneira Ranch hot-air balloon ride is something that everyone should experience.
From nearly a mile high, views of the Santa Clara Valley, Pacific Ocean, two rare east-west mountain ranges (Topa Topa and South Mountain), and the Channel Islands can only be described as majestic.
Depending on the wind’s prevailing direction, we may see a zoo’s worth of wildlife or an aviary’s worth of bird life, as well as seemingly endless stretches of lemon and avocado orchards dotted by patches of strawberries, artichokes, and cut flowers. We may also spot the Union Oil Company’s first oil wells, dating from the 1880s’ oil rush.
After a gentle descent, we’ll stretch our legs, explore the surrounding fragrant groves of lemons and avocados that will never again look the same, and enjoy complimentary refreshments.
